Heide Ho Pinehurst, German Shorthaired Pointer female, FDSB # 1280417, was bred by Ken Sanderson of Olathe, Kansas, the product of a mating of Julson Jesse and Erbe’s White Streaker. Heide Ho Pinehurst was owned by Linda Nickerson of Overland Park, Kansas, and was ably handled by Keith Gulledge and scouted by Keith’s wife, Robbi, of Blue Dawn Kennels in Madison, Kansas, to all her wins and placements.
Heide Ho Pinehurst began her field trial career by winning the Open Puppy stake in San Antonio, Texas, in February 1987, followed by these wins: Open Derby at the Lone Star German Shorthaired Pointer Club at Lake Whitney, Texas; the Open Puppy at the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Nebraska in March 1987; the National German Shorthaired Pointer Association (NGSPA) Region 8 Derby Classic at the Branched Oak Field Trial Grounds in Nebraska in March 1987. Heide Ho won the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (American Kennel Club) National Futurity in October 1987, in Ionia, Michigan, followed by a third place in the NGSPA (American Field) National Futurity in 1988. She attained her AKC Field Championship title May 20, 1989.
Heide Ho won the NGSPA National Shooting Dog Championship in 1990; was runner up in the 1992 NGSPA National Shooting Dog Championship; and was runner up in the 1991 NGSPA Region 7 All Age Championship. In addition, she was Heart of America Young Dog of the Year in 1987; Heart of America Broke Dog of the Year in 1989 and 1990; runner up AKC All Age Dog of the Year in 1990; and in 1993 NGSPA Top Producing Futurity Dam of the Year.
Heide Ho Pinehurst was elected to the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America Hall of Fame in 2006 and was an inaugural inductee to the Kansas Heritage Hall of Fame in August 2008.
Heide Ho Pinehurst was bred to Seig Heil, owned by John Nickerson, and a litter of six males and six females were whelped July 10, 1988, producing 5 field trial dogs: Bluemax Spitfire; Bluemax Salley Von Hoffman, Bluemax Ice Man, Bluemax Sadie Hawkins, and Bluemax Pharlpa’s Revenge. All five attained their AKC Field Championship title with Bluemax Spitfire and Bluemax Pharlap’s Revenge attaining their AKC Amateur Field Championship titles. Bluemax Spitfire won or placed in 24 hour stakes which include winning six National Championship titles with numerous “Dog of the Year” honors. Bluemax Sally Von Hoffman placed in the AKC National All Age Championship and the Region 5 All Age Championship, and Bluemax Ice Man was runner up in the Region 8 Amateur Championship.
Heide Ho was stolen in 1990 and through a lot of persistence and searching was found with a reward paid for her safe return.
Heide Ho was bred to Sanjo Sin City Slicker and produced a litter of 6 males and 2 females whelped January 10, 1991. The mating produced the following field trial dogs: BMK’s Wild Child, BMK’s Storming Norma, Heide’s Mighty Slicker, BMK’s Running Bear, BMK’s Strike The Gold, and Thunderbolt Tex V Flecht. Of this litter, 5 attained their AKC Field Championship titles and Baron Von Jager, also of this litter, attained his Amateur Field Championship title. Of this litter, 5 won or placed in National Championship stakes for a total of 22 National Championship wins or placements. The litter also won or placed in 27 NGSPA Regional Championships, 3 NGSPA Species Championships, 3 NGSPA Derby Classics, 1 National German Pointer Dog (American Field) Derby Classic, 1 NGSPA National Futurity, 1 AKC National Futurity, and numerous “Dog of the Year” Honors. Heide’s Mighty Slicker is the leading producer of Shorthair field trial dogs.
Heide Ho was bred to Sanjo Sin City Slicker and produced two females whelped July 31, 1993. These two females were BMK’s Free Spirit and Sin City Sayanora.
Heide Ho was bred to BMK’s Strike The Gold and produced two males and two females whelped February 8, 1994. Two field trial dogs were Dressler’s Royal Princess Di and BMK’s Awesome Allie.
Records of the Field Dog Stud Book reflect that Heide Ho Pinehurst whelped 16 dogs that had a total of 238 wins and placements in American Field Shorthair competition.
